Very fascinating perspective Kristin- I remeber an uncle of mine who always dealt in cash. He had a wad like a gangster and avoided all charge cards on principle. I tried to envision our household without any packaged food. It seems we are opening packages all the time. Good news here from Hood River - a new locally owned food store opened - mostly fresh and local products. Still a world away from the house accompnaying your NPR post. We miss you guys! - Al Barton
